Digital Ink - Danny Paint

A.K.A. "I draw other people's characters without their permission."

Another sketch... actually, no; this is a digitally done inking. This time, I decided to draw Danny-Paint's avatar! Never really tried my hand at a feline character, so I kept things relatively simple. I mean, I never do frontal poses anyway, so it was nice to experiment with that (side note: Danny here was originally supposed to be waving, but I just couldn't get his arm/hand right, so I had to opt for something easier). I was even able to integrate the character's emblem into the shot and have it function as a border for the character's name! I felt so clever when I did that.

So, some of my watchers may be wondering who this Danny person is and why I drew something for him. Well, you see... Danny is a super-friendly individual who discovered and befriended me last year. If you follow my Twitter or talk to me on Skype, "last year" was also when reality began to dawn upon me and I wound up falling into a nasty pit of despair, emptiness, and self-loathing (a hole I still haven't been able to drag myself out of, unfortunately...). So, guess what happened? He often found himself taking the full brunt of my shitty, shitty self to the point that it soon became a common conversation topic between him and I. If any of you read my Twitter, or if you talk to me on Skype... I can assure you that any shittiness of mine which I have exposed you to pales in comparison to what I put poor Danny through. I am convinced that the friendship him and I share is permanently damaged because of it, and that it is entirely my fault. Despite all of this, he still willingly talks to me. I don't know why, but he does, and I am grateful for that.

If you're reading this, Danny, I really am sorry about all of that (hey, me apologizing for being a shitty person also came up a fair deal in our convos, didn't it?). You really did not deserve any of that. You know what you do deserve, however? A drawing! I know just one drawing won't make up for that (and I know this isn't exactly what you were expecting... baby steps, Danny - outside of these recent bust shots, I haven't really drawn anything in some time), but I hope this at least helps things a little. You could argue I don't owe you anything at all, in which case... tough, I made you something anyway. I also made sure to fix up most of the problems present in that sketch I shared with you the other day, but if there's anything I missed, do let me know.
